Fixed Braces
Fixed braces have been around for hundreds of years, and have been made out of such materials as stainless steel, porcelain, and even gold! They are fastened to the teeth with a composite resin, and provide a fixed point that allows orthodontic wires to move them into their desired positions. A fixed brace allows the tooth to be moved in all directions and provides the orthodontist with excellent control over the tooth's final position.
Advantages of fixed braces?
Superior control: Fixed braces give the doctor countless options of how to move a tooth, and provides excellent results with a high degree of predictability.
Compliance issues: Fixed braces are glued to the teeth and therefore the patient doesn't need to "remember" to put them in, or wear them as instructed. As long as the patient keeps their teeth/braces clean, the braces will work as intended.
Clear and metal options: Braces come in the traditional metal option (which can be decorated with our colored elastic ties) or the more subtle clear option which gives the control of a fixed appliance, while offering a better cosmetic appearance.
Versatile:
Fixed braces can treat almost all bite conditions, including crossbites, crowding, open bites, gapped teeth, overbites, and underbites.
Comfortable:
Braces have gotten smaller and smoother over the years, to the point that they are very comfortable to wear. While we provide wax to help smooth over any rough spots, it is rarely needed due to the low-profile design of the products.
Convenient:
Fixed appliances usually only require to be checked once a month. So they continue to work while you can go about your busy schedule.
